Procedure:
1. Preparation:
- Ensure the ATV is parked on level ground and the engine is off and has cooled down.
- Drain the engine oil into a suitable container.
- Remove the seat, gas tank, and side covers to expose the clutch housing.
2. Remove Clutch Cover:
- Locate the clutch cover on the right side of the engine.
- Use the socket wrench to loosen and remove the bolts or screws holding the clutch cover in place.
- Carefully remove the clutch cover, taking note of the gasket (if applicable) and any shims or spacers behind the cover.
3. Inspect Clutch Components:
- Visually inspect the existing clutch plates and springs for any signs of wear, damage, or contamination.
- If necessary, take note of the order and orientation of the plates before disassembling the clutch.
4. Remove Old Clutch:
- Use the Allen key to loosen and remove the bolts holding the pressure plate and clutch hub to the inner clutch basket.
- Carefully lift and remove the pressure plate, friction plates, steel plates, and clutch hub.
5. Clean and Inspect:
- Thoroughly clean all the clutch components with a degreaser and a lint-free cloth.
- Inspect the clutch basket for any damage or grooves. If necessary, replace the clutch basket.
6. Install New Clutch:
- Install the new clutch plates and steel plates in alternating order onto the clutch hub, aligning them correctly.
- Make sure the friction material faces the pressure plate.
- Install the new clutch springs and pressure plate.
- Tighten the pressure plate bolts to the specified torque using an Allen key.
7. Install Clutch Cover:
- If there was a gasket, remove the old gasket from the clutch cover surface and clean the area.
- Apply a thin layer of sealant or use a new gasket on the clutch cover surface.
- Carefully position the clutch cover and secure it with the bolts or screws you removed earlier.
8. Refill Engine Oil:
- Refill the engine with the recommended amount of new engine oil.
- Check the oil level and ensure it's within the specified range.
9. Reinstall Components:
- Reinstall the gas tank, seat, and side covers removed during disassembly.
10. Test the Clutch:
- Start the ATV and let it idle.
- Engage the clutch lever and shift gears to test the functionality of the clutch.
