- Safely raise and support the vehicle.
- Disconnect Spark Plug Wires from Spark Plugs and pull them out of the way.
- Label all vacuum lines and hoses and remove.
- Remove: Air Filter Assembly & Air ducting.
- Remove the Fuel Rail assembly.
- Remove Valve Covers.
2. Adjust lash
- Turn Engine until Piston #1 on compression and the timing mark on the camshaft aligns with the timing cover, and both Valve Lifters are on the base circle of the camshaft lobes (rockers have zero lash) for valves 1-3-5-7
- Use .012 inch feeler gauge between Rocker arm and Valve stem. If adjustment is necessary, loosen lock nut (1), rotate adjusting screw (2) up or down until there is a slight drag as the feeler gauge is moved back and forth, and then tighten lock nut.
3. Re-assembly
- Reassemble components you removed in the preparation section in reverse order.
