1. Ensure that the vehicle is turned off and cool to the touch.
2. Open the trunk.
3. Locate the two plastic screws on the inner side of the trunk, near the rear light assembly.
4. Use a screwdriver to remove the two plastic screws.
5. Gently pry the rear light cover outward to release it from the retaining clips.
6. If necessary, use a plastic trim removal tool to help release the cover from the clips.
7. Once the cover is released, lift it off and set it aside.
_NOTE:_ _Be careful not to damage the rear light cover or the retaining clips._
