How do you reset the brake pad wear warning light on a 330Ci after all pads and sensors have been replaced?

Tools:

- OBD-II scanner

- Torque adapter (if needed)

Instructions:

1. Check the brake fluid level and ensure that it is topped off to the proper level with the DOT-recommended fluid.

2. Turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine.

3. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the diagnostic port under the dash, then turn on the scanner. The port is usually under a cover near the driver's knees or under the steering column. If your scanner doesn’t have the proper connector for the BMW port, you will need an adapter.

4. Select "BMW" from the scanner's list of manufacturers, then select "330Ci."

5. Go through the scanner’s menus to locate the reset function. The exact wording will vary depending on your scanner, but look for something called “Brake Pad Reset” or “Service Reset.” Press the reset button on the scanner. (Note: Some scanners may require you to enter the last 7 digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN) to access this function.)

6. Verify the reset was successful by checking the dash to ensure the warning light is off.

7. Start the car, then press the brake pedal several times. If the warning light comes back on, there is a problem with your brake system. If the light does not come on, then the reset has been successful.

8. Disconnect the OBD-II scanner.
