1. Open the trunk.
2. Locate the two plastic rivets holding the license plate lamp assembly in place.
3. Use a screwdriver to pry out the two plastic rivets.
4. Remove the license plate lamp assembly by pulling it straight back.
5. Replace the old bulb with a new one.
6. Reinsert the license plate lamp assembly and replace the two plastic rivets.
7. Close the trunk.
Here are some additional tips for changing the license plate light on a Mercedes CLK:
* You may need to use a flashlight to see the plastic rivets and the bulb socket.
* Be careful not to drop the plastic rivets or the bulb.
* Make sure that the new bulb is properly seated in the socket before you reinsert the license plate lamp assembly.
* If you are changing the bulbs on both sides of the vehicle, be sure to change the left and right bulbs. The bulbs are not interchangeable.
