Park your vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.
Open the hood and locate the crankshaft sensor. It is situated on the front of the engine, near the bottom.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the crankshaft sensor.
Use a wrench to loosen the mounting bolt that secures the sensor in place.
Remove the old sensor from the engine.
Install the new sensor by reversing the steps above.
Tighten the mounting bolt to the specified torque (refer to your vehicle's service manual for the exact torque specification).
Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
Close the hood and start the engine.
If the problem is not resolved, you might want to take the vehicle to a mechanic.
Here are some additional tips that may prove helpful:
Make sure that you have the correct replacement crankshaft sensor for your vehicle.
Be careful not to drop the bolt or the sensor into the engine bay.
If you have trouble accessing the sensor, you may need to remove the air filter housing or other components.
