- Locate a long extension bar, such as a pry bar or a long, sturdy tool.
2. Release the Secondary Hood Lever:
- Open the driver's door and locate the secondary hood lever near the driver's left foot.
- Pull the lever to release the front hood latch partially.
3. Locate the Hood Latch:
- Move to the front of the vehicle and stand in front of the hood.
- Look for a small slot on the driver's side of the front grille, underneath the Mercedes emblem.
4. Insert the Extension Bar:
- Insert the extension bar into the slot, pushing it as far as possible until you feel it connect with the hood latch release mechanism.
5. Release the Hood:
- Press down and apply pressure with the extension bar. This will release the secondary latch, allowing you to open the hood fully.
6. Secure the Hood:
- Lift the front edge of the hood while supporting the rear edge.
- Once the hood is in an upright position, secure it with the hood prop.
