1. Park the car on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Chock the rear wheels to prevent the car from rolling.
3. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel that has the bad bearing, but do not remove them completely.
4. Jack up the car until the front wheel is off the ground.
5. Remove the lug nuts and take off the front wheel.
6. Remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way with a piece of wire.
7. Remove the brake rotor.
8. Use a slide hammer or bearing puller to remove the old wheel bearing from the hub.
9. Clean the hub and bearing surface.
10. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new wheel bearing.
11. Install the new wheel bearing into the hub.
12. Reinstall the brake rotor.
13. Reinstall the brake caliper.
14. Reinstall the front wheel.
15. Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, tightening each lug nut a little bit at a time until they are snug.
16. Lower the car and remove the chocks.
17. Test drive the car to make sure the wheel bearing is working properly.
Note: It is important to replace the wheel bearing on the other side of the car at the same time, even if it is not showing any signs of wear. This will help to ensure that the front end of the car remains aligned and drives smoothly.
