- New transmission fluid (check your owner's manual for the recommended type and amount)
- Funnel
- 17mm socket wrench
- Oil pan
- Rags
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Park your Audi A6 on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Crawl under the car and locate the transmission fluid drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the transmission pan.
4. Place the oil pan under the drain plug.
5. Use the 17mm socket wrench to loosen the drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain into the pan.
6. Allow all of the transmission fluid to drain out. This may take a few minutes.
7. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.
8. Locate the transmission fluid fill plug. It is usually located on the side of the transmission.
9. Use the funnel to add new transmission fluid to the transmission. Add the amount of fluid specified in your owner's manual.
10. Replace the fill plug and tighten it securely.
11. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
12. Check the transmission fluid level. It should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
Tips:
- Be sure to use the correct type of transmission fluid. Using the wrong type of fluid can damage your transmission.
- If you are unable to locate the transmission fluid drain and fill plugs, consult your owner's manual.
- Be careful not to overfill the transmission. Overfilling can cause damage to your transmission.
