Tools Needed:
- 3/8-inch drive ratchet and socket set
- 1/2-inch drive ratchet and socket set
- Flat head screwdriver
- Hammer
- Pry bar
- New lift arm actuator
Procedure:
1. Park the loader on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Shut off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Locate the lift arm actuator on the loader. It is located on the left side of the machine, near the lift arm pivot.
4. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the actuator. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the hoses in place, and then use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the hoses off of the nipples.
5. Remove the bolts that hold the actuator in place. There are two bolts on the top of the actuator and two bolts on the bottom.
6. Use a pry bar to pry the actuator off of the lift arm pivot. Be careful not to damage the lift arm pivot or the actuator.
7. Remove the old actuator and install the new actuator. Make sure that the new actuator is installed in the same position as the old actuator.
8. Reinstall the bolts that hold the actuator in place.
9. Reconnect the hydraulic hoses to the actuator.
10. Lower the lift arms and test the operation of the actuator.
Here are some additional tips for removing and replacing the lift arm actuator on a Bobcat Model 863H loader:
- Be careful not to damage the hydraulic hoses when disconnecting them from the actuator.
- Be careful not to damage the lift arm pivot or the actuator when removing the old actuator.
- Make sure that the new actuator is installed in the same position as the old actuator.
