- Park the truck on level ground.
- Position a measuring tape at the bottom bead of one tire sidewall to the bead at the opposite sidewall, keeping the tape parallel to the rim.
- Record this measurement as the "Rim Diameter."
2. Rim Width:
- Using the same methodology, position the measuring tape between the outer edges of the outermost points on both sides of the wheel rim flange.
- This measurement represents the "Rim Width."
3. Offset or Backspacing:
- Depending on the wheel's construction type, determine whether you're measuring offset or backspacing:
- Traditional Rim with Positive Offset: The offset is measured from the back of the mounting pad against the wheel to the centerline of the rim.
- Beadlock or Custom Wheel with Zero Offset: The backspacing is measured from the back of the mounting pad against the wheel or where the bead or face bolts.
- Record this measurement as the "Offset" for traditional rims or "Backspacing" for custom wheels.
Always refer to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations and use accurate measuring tools to ensure you obtain precise measurements when replacing or selecting truck rims.
