Should I shift into Drive before car has stopped rolling backwards?

It is NOT recommended to shift into Drive before your car has come to a complete stop. Doing so can put unnecessary strain on your car's transmission, potentially causing the transmission to wear out more quickly and even resulting in costly repairs.

The proper procedure is to bring the car to a stop first by pressing the brake pedal, ensuring that the vehicle is completely stationary. Once completely stopped, release the brake pedal, place your foot on the brake, then shift into Drive. This helps to protect your transmission from unnecessary stress and ensures a smooth transition.
