Step 1: Remove the door panel:
- Start by prying off the plastic caps covering the screws on the door panel using the flat-head screwdriver.
- Use the Philips-head screwdriver to remove the screws exposed by removing the caps.
- Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry off the power window switch panel and disconnect the electrical connector behind it.
- Gently pry off the door panel from the door by inserting the flat-head screwdriver into the gaps between the panel and the door.
- Lift the panel straight up to disengage it from the clips holding it in place. Set the panel aside in a safe place.
Step 2: Remove the old window motor:
- Locate the power window motor attached to the door frame behind the door panel. It is usually held in place by three 7/32 inch bolts. Use the 5/16 inch socket wrench to remove these bolts.
- Once the motor is loose, disconnect the electrical connector attached to it.
Step 3: Install the new window motor:
- Connect the electrical connector to the new window motor.
- Secure the motor in place with the 7/32 inch bolts removed earlier. Tighten the bolts securely.
Step 4: Reinstall the door panel:
- Carefully align the door panel with the clips on the door frame and press it into place until the clips engage securely.
- Reinstall the screws removed earlier using the Philips-head screwdriver.
- Snap back the plastic covers over the screws.
- Reconnect the electrical connector behind the power window switch panel and reinstall the switch panel.
Step 5: Test the window motor:
- Turn on the ignition of your vehicle.
- Test the power window by pressing the window switch up and down. The window should move smoothly up and down.
