1. Open the trunk of your vehicle.
2. Locate the access panel for the brake light assembly. It is typically located on the inside of the trunk lid, near the center.
3. Remove the access panel by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place.
4. Locate the brake light bulb. It is typically a red bulb that is held in place by a twist lock.
5. Twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
6. Insert the new bulb into the socket and twist it clockwise to lock it in place.
7. Replace the access panel and screw it back into place.
8. Close the trunk of your vehicle.
Here are some additional tips for changing the center rear brake bulb in a 2009 Pontiac g5:
* Be sure to turn off the headlights and taillights before starting work.
* If the bulb is hot, allow it to cool down before handling it.
* Do not touch the glass part of the bulb with your bare hands, as this can shorten the life of the bulb.
