How do you change coolant Nissan micra?

Tools and Materials:

- New Coolant (suitable for your Nissan Micra model)

- Distilled Water

- Funnel

- Wrench or Pliers

- Drain Pan

- Safety Glasses

Procedure:

1. Preparation:

- Allow your Nissan Micra engine to cool down completely.

- Move your vehicle to a flat surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Locate Coolant Reservoir:

- Open your Nissan Micra's hood.

- Find the coolant reservoir, which is usually a translucent plastic tank.

3. Remove Reservoir Cap:

- Carefully remove the cap from the coolant reservoir by turning it counterclockwise.

- Be cautious as there may be some pressure built up in the reservoir.

4. Locate Radiator Drain Plug:

- Below the vehicle, find the radiator drain plug. Refer to your vehicle's manual for the exact location if necessary.

5. Drain Coolant:

- Place the drain pan beneath the radiator drain plug.

- Using a wrench or pliers, turn the drain plug counterclockwise to open it.

- Let the old coolant drain out into the drain pan.

- Once the coolant has drained, tighten the drain plug back into place.

6. Flush System (optional):

- If you wish, you can flush your cooling system using distilled water.

- Mix 50% distilled water and 50% new coolant in a large container.

- Pour this mixture into the coolant reservoir.

- Start your engine and let it run for about 10 minutes, allowing the mixture to circulate.

- Drain the mixture through the radiator drain plug again, letting it run until the water runs clear.

7. Refill with Coolant:

- Mix new coolant with distilled water according to the recommended ratio specified in your Nissan Micra's owner's manual.

- Use a funnel to pour the coolant mixture into the coolant reservoir.

- Continue adding coolant until the level reaches the "Full" mark on the reservoir.

8. Test System:

- Replace the coolant reservoir cap and start your Nissan Micra.

- Let it run for a few minutes and observe the temperature gauge.

- Make sure the temperature remains within the normal operating range.

9. Check for Leaks:

- Inspect the hose connections, radiator, and reservoir for any leaks. Tighten any loose connections if necessary.

10. Dispose of Old Coolant:

- Properly dispose of the old coolant and the water-coolant mixture from the flush (if performed) at a recycling center or as per local regulations.

Remember, coolant can be toxic, so it's essential to follow safety precautions and refer to your vehicle's specific owner's manual for detailed instructions.
