- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips head screwdriver
- New door handle
- Socket set
- Wrench
Instructions:
1. Remove the old door handle.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the cover on the inside of the door.
- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the door handle in place.
- Disconnect the door handle linkage by pulling it off of the door lock mechanism.
- Remove the old door handle from the door.
2. Install the new door handle.
- Position the new door handle in place on the door.
- Insert the two screws that hold the door handle in place and tighten them with a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Connect the door handle linkage to the door lock mechanism by pushing it on until it snaps into place.
- Replace the cover on the inside of the door by snapping it into place.
3. Test the new door handle.
- Open and close the door several times to make sure the new door handle is working properly.
Tips:
- Be careful not to drop the door handle linkage when you are removing the old door handle.
- If the new door handle does not fit snugly against the door, you can use a shim to fill the gap.
