1. Locate the handbrake lever inside the car. It is usually positioned between the driver's and passenger's seats.
2. Pull up the handbrake lever to its highest position.
3. Look under the car, near the rear wheels. You will see a cable that runs from the handbrake lever to the rear brakes.
4. Locate the adjuster nut on the handbrake cable. It is usually located near the rear wheels.
5. Use a wrench to turn the adjuster nut clockwise. This will tighten the handbrake cable and increase the braking force.
6. Test the handbrake by pulling it up and releasing it. The handbrake should hold the car in place when it is pulled up to the highest position.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 until the handbrake is adjusted to your satisfaction.
Note: If the handbrake is not holding the car in place, it may be necessary to replace the brake pads or shoes.
