How do you reset the brake light and ABS on dash of a 1997 dodge Dakota?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the "Off" position.

2. Locate the diagnostic connector under the dash, on the driver's side. It is usually a black plastic connector with a cover.

3. Remove the cover from the diagnostic connector.

4. Insert a jumper wire into the "A" and "B" terminals of the diagnostic connector.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position, but do not start the engine.

6. The ABS and brake lights on the dash should illuminate for a few seconds, then turn off.

7. Remove the jumper wire from the diagnostic connector.

8. Turn the ignition switch to the "Off" position.

9. Start the engine and verify that the ABS and brake lights are off.
