2. Inspect the brake light switch. The brake light switch is located on the brake pedal assembly. If the switch is faulty, it may not send a signal to the brake lights to turn off when the pedal is released.
3. Check the wiring. The wiring that connects the brake light switch to the brake lights may be damaged or disconnected. If this is the case, the brake lights will not receive the signal to turn off when the brake pedal is released.
4. Check the brake light bulbs. If the brake light bulbs are burned out, they will not light up even when the brake pedal is pressed.
5. Check the fuse box. There may be a fuse that is responsible for the brake lights. If the fuse is blown, the brake lights will not work.
