Instructions:
Step 1: Raise the golf cart off the ground using a floor jack or golf cart jack.
Step 2: Locate the brake pedal. It is located under the driver's seat on the floorboard.
Step 3: Loosen the locknut on the brake pedal with an adjustable wrench.
Step 4: Turn the brake pedal clockwise until it is firm. The pedal should not be too tight or too loose.
Step 5: Tighten the locknut on the brake pedal.
Step 6: Lower the golf cart to the ground.
Step 7: Test the brakes by pressing on the brake pedal. The brakes should stop the golf cart smoothly and evenly.
Step 8: If the brakes are still not working properly, you may need to adjust the brake shoes.
To adjust the brake shoes, follow these steps:
1. Remove the wheels from the golf cart.
2. Locate the brake shoes. They are located inside the brake drums.
3. Loosen the locknuts on the brake shoes with a socket set.
4. Turn the brake shoes clockwise until they contact the brake drums.
5. Tighten the locknuts on the brake shoes.
6. Reinstall the wheels.
7. Test the brakes by pressing on the brake pedal. The brakes should stop the golf cart smoothly and evenly.
- If the brakes still do not work properly, you may need to replace the brake shoes or other components of the brake system.
