1. Park your vehicle on a level surface.
2. Apply parking brake.
3. Place the wheel chock behind the front tires.
4. Securely lift and support the vehicle using a floor jack or ramps.
CAUTION: Do not crawl underneath a vehicle that is only supported by a jack; use a jack stand instead.
5. Locate the spare tire located underneath the vehicle, behind the rear axle.
6. Remove the spare tire hold-down bolt or wing-nut using a wrench or socket set.
7. Lower the spare tire by hand.
NOTES:
- The hold-down bolt or wing-nut may require some force to loosen.
- Be careful not to drop the spare tire when removing it.
- If the spare tire is difficult to reach, you may need to use a long-handled tool or a pry bar to assist you.
