How do you remove brake rotors from 2004 Chevy silverado 5.3 4 wheel drive?

To remove the brake rotors from a 2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3 4 wheel drive, follow these steps:

1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Chock the wheels on the opposite side of the vehicle from where you will be working to prevent it from moving.

3. Raise the front of your vehicle with a floor jack and support it with jack stands.

4. Remove the lug nuts from the wheels.

5. Remove the wheels.

6. Locate the caliper bolts on the back of the caliper.

- There are two bolts, one on the top and one on the bottom.

7. Remove the caliper bolts.

8. Lift the caliper off the rotor.

- You may need to pry it off with a pry bar.

9. Remove the brake pads.

- They are located inside the caliper.

10. Clean the caliper and the rotor with a wire brush.

11. Install the new brake pads.

12. Reinstall the caliper.

- Make sure the caliper is centered over the rotor.

14. Reinstall the wheels.

- Make sure the lug nuts are tightened until snug.

15. Lower the vehicle.

18. Test the brakes by applying them gently while driving slowly.
