How do you remove the left front door panel of a 1998 Honda Civic?

1. Remove the door sill plates. There are two sill plates covering the bottom of the door frame. They are snapped in place, so you can simply pry them up with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver.

2. Remove the phillips screw located just behind the door latch.

3. Remove the door panel retainer clip. The door panel retainer clip is located near the top of the door panel, just behind the mirror. It is held in place by a Phillips head screw that is hidden within a small indentation in the door panel. Remove the screw and remove the plastic clip behind it.

4. Remove the window track trim The window track trim runs vertically through the door panel. It is held in place by a series of snap clips. To remove it, simply pry it up with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver until all the clips are released.

5. Remove the door handle surround. The door handle surround is located around the door handle. It is held in place by two Phillips head screws located at the bottom and inside the surround. Remove both screws and remove the door handle surround.

6. Disconnect the power window and power lock switches. The power window and power lock switches are located on the door panel. They are held in place by two Phillips head screws located on the back. Remove the screws and disconnect the switches from the wiring harnesses behind them.

7. Remove the door panel. Once all of the screws, clips, and switches have been removed, you can remove the door panel. To do so, simply pry it up with your fingers or a flat-head screwdriver until all of the clips are released.
