How to Replace the Rotor in a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier

1. Gather your materials. You will need:

* A new rotor

* A rotor wrench

* A pry bar

* A hammer

* Safety glasses

2. Park your car in a safe location. Turn off the engine and set the parking brake.

3. Locate the rotor. The rotor is located behind the front wheel.

4. Remove the lug nuts. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel.

5. Remove the front wheel. Once the lug nuts are loose, you can remove the front wheel.

6. Remove the brake caliper. Use the pry bar to pry the brake caliper off of the rotor.

7. Remove the old rotor. Use the hammer to knock the old rotor off of the wheel hub.

8. Install the new rotor. Place the new rotor on the wheel hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.

9. Reinstall the brake caliper. Slide the brake caliper back over the rotor and secure it with the bolts.

10. Reinstall the front wheel. Put the front wheel back on and tighten the lug nuts.

11. Test the brakes. Pump the brakes several times to make sure they are working properly.

12. You're done! You have now successfully replaced the rotor in your 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier.
