- New fuel tank sending unit seal

Instructions
1. Open the trunk of the Cadillac.
2. Remove the spare tire and the carpet behind it.
3. Locate the fuel tank sending unit, which is a round, black plastic housing located on the top of the fuel tank.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
5. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the old seal out of the sending unit housing.
6. Clean the mating surfaces of the seal in the sending unit.
7. Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the new seal to help it go in easier.
8. Press the new seal into the sending unit housing until it is seated properly.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the sending unit.
10. Replace the spare tire and carpet.
11. Close the trunk.
Tips
- Be careful not to drop the fuel tank sending unit into the fuel tank.
- If you are unable to remove the old seal with a flat-head screwdriver, you can use a pair of pliers to gently pry it out.
- Be sure to apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the new seal before installing it. This will help it to go in easier and prevent it from leaking.
