Front Hub Assembly Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: The hub assembly contains a magnetic sensor. Take care when removing the hub to avoid damaging the magnetic sensor.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the front wheel.

3. Remove the brake caliper and bracket from the hub assembly. Do not allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose. Support it with a piece of wire.

4. Remove the two Allen head set screws from the hub assembly.

5. Remove the hub assembly from the spindle by pulling it out of the spindle or by tapping the back side of the hub with a soft-faced hammer.

Installation

NOTE: The hub assembly must be installed with the magnetic sensor facing the sensor ring on the spindle.

1. Clean the spindle face.

2. Install the new hub assembly by sliding the magnetic sensor over the sensor ring on the spindle.

3. Install the two Allen head set screws and tighten them slightly.

4. Install the wheel with the lug nuts and tighten them until snug.

5. Lower the vehicle.

6. Install the brake caliper and bracket.

7. Remove the magnetic sensor and test drive the vehicle. Be sure the Magnetic Sensor air gap clearance is .015 - .025

Magnetic Sensor Removal

1. Remove the 2 18 mm bolts that hold the magnetic sensor to the hub.

2. Pull magnetic sensor straight out.

Magnetic Sensor Installation

1. Install new o-ring on the magnetic sensor.

2. Slide magnetic sensor into hub.

3. Install the 2 18 mm bolts that hold the magnetic sensor to the hub.

4. Test magnetic sensor air gap clearance between sensor and tone ring. Should be .015 - .025
