How do you replace the water pump on a 1993 Ford Probe GT?

Here are the steps to replace the water pump on a 1993 Ford Probe GT:

1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.

Be sure to engage the parking brake.

2. Open the hood and remove the radiator cap.

Allow the engine to cool down completely before doing this step.

3. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

Place a drain pan under the radiator petcock and open it to drain the coolant.

4. Remove the drive belt.

Use a wrench to loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the belt.

5. Remove the water pump pulley.

Use a wrench to remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.

6. Remove the water pump.

Use a wrench to remove the water pump bolts and remove the water pump.

Be careful not to drop the gasket.

7. Clean the mating surface of the engine.

Use a scraper to remove any old gasket material or sealant from the mating surface.

8. Install the new water pump.

Place the new gasket on the mating surface and install the water pump.

Be sure to tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications.

9. Install the water pump pulley.

Install the water pump pulley and tighten the bolts to the proper torque specifications.

10. Install the drive belt.

Install the drive belt and adjust the tension.

11. Refill the coolant.

Add coolant to the radiator until it is full.

Be sure to use the proper type of coolant.

12. Replace the radiator cap.

Replace the radiator cap and close the hood.

13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

Check for any leaks and top off the coolant if necessary.
