1. Gather the necessary tools and materials.
* 10mm socket wrench
* Flat-head screwdriver
* Phillips-head screwdriver
* Small pry bar
* New rear window motor (with mounting hardware)
* Electrical connector (if not included with the new motor)
2. Remove the rear window trim panel.
* Start by removing the two Phillips-head screws that hold the rear window trim panel in place.
* Once the screws are removed, use the small pry bar to gently pry the trim panel up and off the window.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear window motor.
* Locate the electrical connector that is connected to the rear window motor.
* Press down on the release tab and pull the connector straight off of the motor.
4. Unbolt the rear window motor.
* There are four bolts that hold the rear window motor in place.
* Use the 10mm socket wrench to unbolt the bolts and remove the motor.
5. Install the new rear window motor.
* Position the new rear window motor in the window frame.
* Insert the four bolts and tighten them until they are snug.
6. Reconnect the electrical connector to the rear window motor.
* Push the electrical connector back onto the motor until it clicks into place.
7. Test the rear window motor.
* Turn on the ignition and press the rear window switch.
* The rear window should move up and down smoothly.
8. Reinstall the rear window trim panel.
* Position the rear window trim panel in the window frame.
* Push down on the trim panel until the screws holes align with the holes in the window frame.
* Insert the two Phillips-head screws and tighten them until they are snug.
Tips
* When removing the rear window trim panel, be careful not to damage the paint on the window frame.
* If the rear window motor does not work after you have installed it, check the electrical connector to make sure that it is properly connected.
* If the rear window motor still does not work, you may need to replace the rear window regulator.
