How do you replace wiper switch 2004 Chevy Malibu?

Tools

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Flat head screwdriver

Instructions:

1.Locate the wiper switch. The wiper switch is located on the left side of the steering column.

2.Remove the steering column covers. There are two steering column covers that need to be removed. The lower cover is removed by pushing up on it with your hands. The upper cover is removed by removing two screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.

3.Disconnect the electrical connector. The electrical connector is located on the back of the wiper switch. Press down on the release tab and disconnect the connector.

4.Remove the screws holding the wiper switch. There are two screws that hold the wiper switch in place. Remove these screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Remove the wiper switch.

5.To remove the wiper switch, gently pry it out of the steering column with a flat-head screwdriver.

6.Install the new wiper switch. Insert the new wiper switch into the steering column and secure it with the two screws.

7.Reconnect the electrical connector. Press the electrical connector into the wiper switch until it locks into place.

8.Replace the steering column covers. Snap the lower cover into place and replace the upper cover by securing it with the two screws.

Your wiper switch should be now replaced and working properly.
