Instructions
1. Drain the coolant.
- Place a drain pan under the radiator and turn on the draincock.
- Let the coolant drain out until the pan is full and then close the draincock.
2. Disconnect the hoses.
- Use a pair of pliers to pinch the hose clamps on the upper and lower radiator hoses and then slide the hoses off of the water pump.
3. Remove the bolts.
- Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolts holding the water pump to the engine.
- Be careful not to drop any of the bolts into the engine compartment.
4. Pry off the water pump.
- Use a prybar to pry the water pump off of the engine.
5. Clean the mating surface.
- Use a rag to clean the mating surface between the water pump and the engine.
- Make sure the gasket is removed.
6. Install the new water pump.
- Place the new water pump on the mating surface and use the bolts to secure it.
- Be sure to tighten the bolts evenly.
7. Reconncet the hoses.
- Use a pair of pliers to reconnect the upper radiator hose and the lower radiator hose to the water pump.
8. Reinstall the drain plug.
- Use a 13 mm wrench to reinstall the drain plug.
9. Fill the radiator.
- Use a funnel to fill the radiator with coolant until it is full.
- Be sure to use the type of coolant specified by the manufacturer.
- Turn the motor on and let run for 15 minutes.
- check the coolant again and top off if needed.
