1. Remove the interior trim panel.
Start by removing the plastic trim panel on the inside of the rear hatch door. This is held in place with a few screws, which you can remove with a screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the trim panel when you pry it off.
2. Locate the door handle mechanism.
Once the trim panel is removed, you will be able to see the door handle mechanism. It is located on the inside of the door, near the bottom.
3. Remove the door handle mechanism.
To remove the door handle mechanism, you will need to remove the two screws that hold it in place. Once the screws are removed, you can pull the mechanism out of the door.
4. Replace the door handle mechanism.
To replace the door handle mechanism, simply insert the new mechanism into the door and secure it with the two screws.
5. Reattach the interior trim panel.
Once the new door handle mechanism is installed, you can reattach the interior trim panel. Simply snap the panel back into place and replace the screws.
