Locate the spare tire bracket:
1. Open the rear hatch of the Sienna to access the cargo area.
2. On the left-hand side of the cargo area, towards the rear, you'll find the spare tire bracket holding the spare tire in place.
Prepare the vehicle:
1. Engage the parking brake to ensure the Sienna is securely in place.
2. If you're parked on an uneven surface, use a chock or wedge behind the wheels (front or back) that are diagonally opposite to the spare tire to provide additional stability.
Jack up the vehicle:
1. Locate the vehicle's jack points. Refer to your Sienna owner's manual or a reliable source for the specific jacking points.
2. Place a stable jack (such as a floor jack) under one of the designated jacking points on the same side as the spare tire.
3. Follow the jacking instructions in the owner's manual to safely lift the vehicle until the flat tire is a few inches off the ground.
Remove the spare tire:
1. Position yourself underneath the vehicle near the spare tire bracket.
2. Locate the spare tire hold-down mechanism. This may be a bolt, a screw, or a turnbuckle.
3. If the hold-down mechanism is a bolt or a screw, loosen it using an appropriate wrench or screwdriver.
4. If the hold-down mechanism is a turnbuckle, unscrew it by turning the adjustment nut.
5. Once the hold-down mechanism is released, the spare tire should lower slightly.
Remove the spare tire from its bracket:
1. Reach up to the lowered spare tire and grab the tire handle (if equipped) or the tire itself.
2. Pull the spare tire down and out of the bracket.
3. Set the spare tire on the ground gently.
Replace the flat tire with the spare tire:
1. Mount the spare tire onto the spare rim (if it's a separate rim) or your wheel, following the wheel mounting procedure outlined in your Sienna's owner's manual.
2. Lower the vehicle by carefully operating the jack until it touches the ground. Remove the jack and replace the lug nuts or lug bolts to secure the spare tire.
Secure the spare tire bracket:
1. Once the spare tire is attached to the vehicle, lift it, and align it with the bracket.
2. Tighten the hold-down mechanism you loosened earlier (screw, bolt, or turnbuckle) to secure the spare tire in place.
Lower the vehicle:
Continue to lower the vehicle using the jack until it's fully on the ground. Remove the jack and secure it in its storage compartment.
