How do you adjust the tps on a Honda Civic?

To adjust the throttle position sensor (TPS) on a Honda Civic, you will need the following tools:

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Flat head screwdriver

- Multimeter

- Socket wrench

- 10 mm socket

- Feelers gauge

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Locate the TPS. On most Honda Civics, the TPS is located on the throttle body. It is a small, black sensor with two wires connected to it.

3. Loosen the two Phillips head screws that hold the TPS in place.

4. Use the flat head screwdriver to adjust the TPS. There is a small slot on the TPS that you can turn with the screwdriver.

5. Turn the TPS until the multimeter reads 0.5 volts.

6. Tighten the Phillips head screws.

7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

8. Start the engine and check the idle speed. The idle speed should be between 750 and 800 RPM.

If the idle speed is not correct, you may need to adjust the throttle stop screw. The throttle stop screw is located on the throttle body. It is a small, black screw with a spring around it.

Use the 10 mm socket wrench to loosen the throttle stop screw. Turn the throttle stop screw until the idle speed is between 750 and 800 RPM. Tighten the throttle stop screw.

9. Check the TPS voltage again. The TPS voltage should be between 0.5 and 1.0 volts.

10. If the TPS voltage is not correct, you may need to replace the TPS.
