- Replacement hub and bearing assembly
- Socket wrench set (including a 17mm socket)
- Screwdriver
- Pry bar
- Jack and jack stands
- Wheel chocks
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Park your car in a safe location, apply the parking brake, and chock the wheels to prevent your car from rolling.
2. Jack up the front of your car and secure the car on jack stands.
3. Remove lug nuts and wheel.
4. Remove cotter pin and castle nut.
Using a screwdriver and pry bar, remove the cotter pin that secures the castle nut. Then, remove the castle nut with a 17mm socket wrench.
5. Remove the brake rotor.
Slide the rotor off of the hub assembly.
6. Remove the two 10mm bolts that secure the caliper bracket to the hub assembly.
Do not remove the caliper bolts which secure the caliper to the bracket.
7. Remove the hub and bearing assembly.
Slide the hub and bearing assembly off of the spindle.
8. Install the new hub and bearing assembly.
Slide the new hub and bearing assembly onto the spindle.
9. Replace the 10mm bolts and finger tighten.
10. Install the caliper bracket and reinstall the 10mm bolts and tighten completely.
11. Reinstall the brake rotor, castle nut, and cotter pin.
12. Reinstall the wheel and lug nuts.
13. Lower the car from the jack stands.
14. Test drive the vehicle to make sure that the new front wheel bearing is working properly.
