1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the driver's side of the engine compartment.
3. Unlatch the air filter housing cover. There is a small tab on the side of the housing that you can pull up to release the cover.
4. Remove the old air filter. The old filter is a rectangular piece of paper that is located inside the housing. Pull it out to remove it.
5. Inspect the air filter housing for dirt and debris. If it is dirty, you can clean it with a damp cloth.
6. Insert the new air filter. Make sure that the new filter is the same size as the old filter and that it is installed correctly.
7. Replace the air filter housing cover. Snap the cover back into place until it is secure.
8. Close the hood of the vehicle.
Here are some additional tips for changing the air filter on a 2005 Honda CR-V:
* Change the air filter every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, or more often if you drive in dusty or dirty conditions.
* A dirty air filter can reduce the airflow to the engine, which can lead to decreased performance and fuel economy.
* If you are not comfortable changing the air filter yourself, you can have it done by a mechanic.
