Replace blower motor on 2002 Nissan Maxima?

Tools Needed:

* Phillips screwdriver

* Flat-head screwdriver

* Wrench

* Pliers

* Flashlight

* Bungee cord

* New blower motor (check your owner's manual for the correct part number)

Instructions:

1. Pull the bungee cord around the steering column to pull the airbag from the steering column. The cord will lock the airbag in place so it can't suddenly spring back and hit your face during the repair.

2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the steering column shrouds by unscrewing the screws near the hood release latch and underneath the steering column. Remove the shrouds. Then, use a flat-head screwdriver to carefully pop off the hazard light switch cover. Remove the cover. Take out the hazard switch and its wiring.

3. Lift the hood and secure it with the hood prop.

4. Remove the electrical plug harness from the blower motor. It's located on the passenger side under the dash, just below the center console.

5. Remove the three mounting screws that secure the blower motor to the housing.

6. Remove the old blower motor from the housing.

7. Install the new blower motor in the housing.

8. Secure the blower motor with the three mounting screws.

9. Slide the electrical plug into the blower motor.

10. Install the steering column shrouds and the hazard light switch.

11. Pop the airbag back into the steering column and release the bungee cord.
