How do you change a water pump on Kia Sedona?

Tools Needed:

- 10mm Wrench

- 12mm Wrench

- 14mm Wrench

- 17mm Wrench

- Flat-head Screwdriver

- Pliers

- New Water Pump

- New Water Pump Gasket

- Fresh Coolant

- Funnel

- Rags

Instructions:

1. Park your Kia Sedona on a flat surface and let the engine cool down. Engage the parking brake and chock the wheels if you're working on a slope.

2. Locate the water pump. It's on the front of the engine, just below the cylinder head.

3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent any electrical accidents from happening while you're working.

4. Drain the coolant from the radiator. There's a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator. Place a pan under the drain plug and open it. Let all the coolant drain out.

5. Remove the serpentine belt. The serpentine belt is the long belt that runs around the front of the engine. To remove it, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt with a 14mm wrench. Then, take the belt off the pulleys.

6. Remove the water pump. There are four bolts that hold the water pump in place. Remove these bolts with a 12mm wrench. Then, carefully remove the water pump. Be careful not to spill any coolant.

7. Clean the mating surface of the engine block. Use a flat-head screwdriver and a rag to clean the mating surface of the engine block. Make sure it's free of any dirt or debris.

8. Install the new water pump gasket. Place the new water pump gasket on the mating surface of the engine block. Make sure it's seated properly.

9. Install the new water pump. Carefully place the new water pump on the engine block. Make sure the gasket is still in place. Then, reinstall the four bolts that hold the water pump in place. Tighten the bolts with a 12mm wrench.

10. Reinstall the serpentine belt. Place the serpentine belt around the pulleys. Then, tighten the tensioner pulley bolt with a 14mm wrench.

11. Refill the radiator with coolant. Use a funnel to add fresh coolant to the radiator. Add coolant until it reaches the "Full" mark on the radiator.

12. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the coolant through the system and purge any air pockets.

14. Check for leaks. Look for any leaks around the water pump. If you see any leaks, tighten the bolts that hold the water pump in place.

The water pump should be replaced if it is leaking, making noise, or if the engine is overheating.
