1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and remove the engine cover.
3. Locate the timing belt cover on the front of the engine. It is a black plastic cover with the word "TIMING" stamped on it.
4. Remove the timing belt cover by removing the bolts that hold it in place.
5. Locate the crankshaft pulley. It is the large pulley located at the bottom of the engine.
6. Locate the camshaft pulley. It is the smaller pulley located at the top of the engine.
7. Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise until the timing mark on the pulley aligns with the "0" mark on the timing belt cover.
8. Turn the camshaft pulley counterclockwise until the timing mark on the pulley aligns with the "0" mark on the cylinder head.
9. If the timing marks are not aligned, you will need to adjust the timing belt. To do this, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt and move the pulley up or down until the marks align.
10. Once the timing marks are aligned, re-attach the timing cover.
11. Start the engine and check the timing with a timing light.
