1. Park your MDX in a safe and well-lit area. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
2. Locate the cabin air filter housing. The housing is located under the glove compartment. Open the glove compartment and look for a rectangular panel on the left side. This panel is held in place by two screws.
3. Remove the two screws that hold the panel in place and set them aside safely. Then, gently pry the panel off the housing.
4. Remove the old cabin air filter from the housing. The old filter will be dirty and dusty, so be sure to dispose of it properly.
5. Insert the new cabin air filter into the housing. Make sure that the filter is installed correctly, with the arrow on the filter pointing towards the front of the car.
6. Reinstall the panel and secure it with the two screws that you removed earlier.
7. Close the glove compartment and you're done!
Note: The cabin air filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. Replacing the cabin air filter can help to improve the quality of the air you breathe inside your MDX, and can also help to prevent the build-up of dust and debris on the evaporator core.
