How do you replace the water pump on a 1994 subaru legacy?

Tools:

* 10mm wrench

* 12mm wrench

* 14mm wrench

* 17mm wrench

* Flat-head screwdriver

* Phillips-head screwdriver

* Pliers

* Funnel

* Coolant

* Water pump gasket

* Water pump

Instructions:

1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

2. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the water pump.

3. Remove the bolts holding the water pump in place.

4. Remove the old water pump.

5. Clean the mating surface of the water pump and engine block.

6. Apply a thin bead of sealant to the water pump gasket.

7. Install the new water pump.

8. Tighten the bolts holding the water pump in place.

9. Reconnect the coolant hoses.

10. Fill the radiator with coolant.

11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

12. Check for leaks.

Tips:

* Be careful not to drop any bolts into the engine block.

* If you are using a sealant, be sure to apply it in a thin bead. Too much sealant can block the coolant flow.

* Make sure that all the bolts are tight before starting the engine.

* Check for leaks after starting the engine.
