1. Locate the diagnostic port under the hood. It is usually near the battery and there is a black cap covering it.
2. Get a jumper wire or paper clip.
3. Straighten out the jumper wire or paper clip.
4. Insert one end of the wire into pin 4, which is the one closest to the firewall, and the other into pin 13. If you are using a paperclip, you may have to insert a plastic pen cap into the female ends to ensure a secure fit.
5. Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
6. Wait 10 seconds.
7. Turn the ignition off.
8. Wait 5 seconds.
9. Turn the ignition back on but do not start the engine.
10. Wait 5 seconds.
11. Start the engine. The ABS light should turn off after 5 seconds.
12. Test the ABS by braking at a low speed. The ABS light should not come on if the system is working properly.
If the ABS light does not turn off, there may be a problem with the ABS system. You will need to have it diagnosed by a mechanic.
