1. Park the vehicle on level ground and apply the parking brake.
2. Open the trunk by pressing the button on the key fob or the trunk release button on the dashboard.
3. Locate the black plastic panel at the bottom of the rear bumper. This panel is held in place with four push-pin fasteners which can be removed by simply pulling them straight out.
4. Once these four fasteners are removed, the panel will need to be partially removed to access the spare tire. To do this, first, gently pry the panel down from the bottom until you can get your fingers underneath it, and then pull the panel straight out from the vehicle.
5. The spare tire will be located inside the spare tire well, underneath the trunk floor.
6. Locate the release lever for the spare tire. It is typically a red or orange lever located near the spare tire.
7. Pull the release lever and lift the spare tire up and out of the spare tire well.
8. Place the spare tire on the ground, being careful not to drop it.
9. Replace the spare tire well cover and the black plastic panel on the rear bumper.
10. Close the trunk.
