How do you change thermostat on motor 1993 Nissan maxima?

Tools and Materials Needed:

_• Replacement thermostat_

_• Thermostat housing gasket_

_• Container for catching coolant_

_• Funnel_

_• Screwdriver_

_• Wrench_

_• Pliers_

_• New coolant (if necessary)_

Instructions:

1.) Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.

2.) Open the hood and locate the thermostat housing. On the 1993 Nissan Maxima, it is typically located on the front of the engine, near the top.

3.) Place a container under the thermostat housing to catch any coolant that may spill.

4.) Use a screwdriver to loosen the hose clamps on the coolant hoses that connect to the thermostat housing.

5.) Gently pry the coolant hoses off of the thermostat housing. Be careful not to damage the hoses.

6.) Remove the thermostat housing bolts.

7.) Carefully remove the thermostat from the housing. Be careful not to drop the thermostat into the engine.

8.) Inspect the thermostat for damage or defects. If the thermostat is damaged, replace it with a new one.

9.) Clean the thermostat housing mating surfaces.

10.) Install a new thermostat housing gasket.

11.) Place the new thermostat in the housing.

12.) Install the thermostat housing bolts and tighten them securely.

13.) Reconnect the coolant hoses to the thermostat housing and tighten the hose clamps.

14.) Fill the radiator with coolant.

15.) Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks.

16.) If there are no leaks, turn off the engine and let it cool down.

17.) Check the coolant level and add more coolant if necessary.
