How do you change a clutch in Kia Pride 1993?

Tools:

- Wrench set

- Socket set

- Screwdriver

- Pliers

- Clutch alignment tool

- Floor jack

- Jack stands

- Oil pan

- Funnel

Parts:

- New clutch kit (includes clutch disc, pressure plate, and release bearing)

- Flywheel resurfacing (optional)

- Pilot bearing (optional)

- Transmission fluid

Procedure:

1. Park the car in a safe location and apply the parking brake.

2. Raise the front of the car with a floor jack and place jack stands under the frame.

3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

4. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the fluid to drain into an oil pan.

5. Remove the starter motor.

6. Remove the clutch cable.

7. Remove the transmission mount.

8. Remove the driveshaft.

9. Remove the transmission-to-engine bolts and carefully separate the transmission from the engine.

10. Inspect the flywheel and pressure plate for wear or damage. If necessary, resurface the flywheel or replace the pressure plate.

11. Install the new clutch disc and pressure plate.

12. Install the new pilot bearing (if applicable).

13. Install the transmission-to-engine bolts and finger-tighten them.

14. Install the driveshaft.

15. Install the transmission mount.

16. Install the clutch cable.

17. Install the starter motor.

18. Connect the negative battery terminal.

19. Fill the transmission with new fluid.

20. Lower the car from the jack stands.
