1. Park your car on a flat surface and turn off the engine.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the trunk and remove the spare tire and any other items that may be in the way.
4. Remove the four bolts that hold the license plate bracket to the rear bumper.
5. Remove the two nuts that hold the bumper shocks to the frame on each side of the car.
6. Gently pry the bumper away from the car, starting at one end and working your way to the other. There may be some resistance due to the bumper being held in place by adhesive strips. Be careful not to damage the paint on the car.
7. Once the bumper is removed, disconnect any electrical connectors that may be attached to it.
8. Remove the old bumper and set it aside.
To install a new bumper, follow these steps in reverse order:
1. Connect any electrical connectors to the new bumper.
2. Gently align the new bumper with the car and push it into place.
3. Install the two nuts that hold the bumper shocks to the frame on each side of the car.
4. Install the four bolts that hold the license plate bracket to the rear bumper.
5. Replace the spare tire and any other items that you removed from the trunk.
