1. Purchase: Buy suitable replacement tail light assembly.
2. Park. Park your Civic in a safe location.
3. Open the trunk: Open the trunk of your Civic.
4. Remove trunk liner: Remove the plastic liner from the trunk to expose the tail light assembly.
5. Locate bolts: There will be two bolts on the inside of the trunk that secure the tail light assembly.
6. Remove the bolts: Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts.
7. Pull out assembly: Gently pull the tail light assembly out of the vehicle, starting at the outer edge and working your way inward.
8. Disconnect wiring harness: Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the tail light assembly by pressing the release button and pulling the connector apart.

11. Secure assembly: Insert the bolts you removed earlier and tighten them securely.
12. Reconnect wiring harness: Reconnect the electrical wiring harness to the tail light assembly.
13. Test the lights: Turn on your headlights and brake lights to ensure that the new tail light assembly is working correctly.
14. Replace trunk liner: Reinstall the plastic liner in the trunk.
