1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the starter relay.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the bolt that holds the starter to the bell housing.
5. Remove the two nuts that hold the starter to the engine block.
6. Remove the starter.
7. Inspect the starter for wear or damage.
8. Replace the starter if necessary.
9. Reinstall the starter in reverse order of removal.
10. Reconnect the battery.
