- New transmission oil (check your owner's manual for the correct type and quantity)
- Drain pan
- Funnel
- Wrench
- Rags
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Locate the transmission oil drain plug. It is usually located on the bottom of the transmission pan.
3. Place the drain pan under the drain plug. Be careful, as the oil may be hot.
4. Use the wrench to loosen the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely.
5. Replace the drain plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
6. Locate the transmission oil fill plug. It is usually located on the side of the transmission.
7. Use the funnel to add new transmission oil. Add the amount of oil specified in your owner's manual.
8. Check the transmission fluid level. Use the dipstick to check the level. Add more oil if necessary.
9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new oil throughout the transmission.
10. Check the transmission fluid level again. Make sure it is at the correct level.
