1. Park the car on a level surface.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Open the hood of the car.
4. Locate the fuel line that runs from the gas tank to the engine. It will be a metal line, about 1/4 inch in diameter.
5. Disconnect the fuel line from the engine by pulling it off of the nipple. Be careful not to spill any gas.
6. Place a container under the end of the fuel line to catch the gas.
7. Open the gas cap to allow air into the tank.
8. The gas will start to flow out of the fuel line into the container.
9. Allow the gas to drain completely out of the tank.
10. Reconnect the fuel line to the engine and close the gas cap.
