The thermostat is located in the upper radiator hose housing, near the front of the engine on the driver's side of the vehicle.
Replacement Procedure:
1. Gather the necessary tools and parts, including a new thermostat.
2. Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.
3. Locate the coolant drain plug on the bottom of the radiator and open it to drain the coolant from the system.
4. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing by loosening the hose clamp.
5. Remove the old thermostat from the housing by carefully prying it out with a flat-head screwdriver.
6. Clean the thermostat housing and gasket surface to remove any old gasket material.
7. Install the new thermostat by placing it into the housing and aligning the mounting holes.
8. Replace the thermostat gasket if it is damaged or worn out.
9. Reinstall the upper radiator hose and tighten the hose clamp.
10. Replace the coolant drain plug and refill the cooling system with fresh coolant.
11. Start the vehicle and allow it to warm up until the thermostat opens. Check for leaks and top up the coolant level if necessary.
